Cedar Fence & Gate

One of the gate posts had completely rotted at the ground, making half of this 3-rail fence very unstable. The homeowner wanted to remove the 3-rail, and switch to a picket style fence to match the rest of the backyard. We removed the rotted post, and were able to re-use and extend the existing concrete footing. We used a steel post base with standoff to prevent the new post from rotting where it meets the ground, and constructed a new cedar picket fence and gate with self-closing hinges.
